Toshiba Introduces Tecra 9000 Series Notebook With World's Fastest Mobile PC Processor

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2001-- The Computer Systems Group (CSG) of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS) introduces its thin and light Tecra® 9000 Series with the new Intel® Pentium® III processor-M 1.2GHz offering the latest in mobile computing advancements.

Combined with the fastest processer available, the Tecra 9000 Series also offers integrated Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b), Bluetooth(TM) technology and a Secure Digital (SD) media slot. Toshiba manufactures the industry's only notebook with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas embedded directly into the lid of the notebook, leaving no need for a PC Card.

Weighing a mere 5.3 pounds, the Tecra 9000 is able to offer the best balance of performance, wireless connectivity and low power consumption. Highly mobile professionals can benefit from a lightweight device that provides wireless access to a LAN, team computing, file sharing and transfer of data between other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
